Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

[Inspired by the documentary, Wont’ You Be My Neighbor?]

Won’t You Be My Neighbor? No, really. Will you? This is the question that I believe every human is asking from deep within. We wish we could find a true, genuine, authentic, unconditional, caring relationship, but they are extremely difficult to come by. So on we beg, hoping to one day find at least one person that be a true neighbor.

The fact is, we have been hurt by one or several people time and time again. Those hurts leave scars and we vow to never trust anyone ever again. So now we live in a world full of strangers; each on guard waiting to be hurt yet again. Relationships can be so rough.

However, some of you know that one trusting relationship can open the door to another one. And after a while, we let our guards down to trust people again. I have seen it happen and look forward to seeing more people that live in community – common unity.

So, will you? Will you be a neighbor? I am not asking you to exist next to others. I am challenging to exist for those you are walking next to, sitting next to, and living next to. We often awake thinking of what we need to do for ourselves – our careers, our finances, our platforms, our next purchases, and etc. We live in a world that prioritizes self.

“People are our mission. Everything else is a mirage.” – Dexter Culbreath

Being a neighbor prioritizes our neighbors. My hope is that, if we are neighbors, our neighbors will become neighbors. Then we will live in neighborhoods again instead of strangerhoods – areas filled with strangers.

Are you on board? If so, I highly encourage you to watch the documentary, Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Check out the trailer below.

Until next time…
